Brief
Background
Professor Du Yucang graduated from Beijing University in
1958. He is currently a researcher and PhD Supervisor at
the Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry, Chinese Academy
of Sciences. He is also the Chinese leader of the International
Neuropeptide Institute.
His research deals with protein chemistry and peptide biology
including the recombination of insulin from its A and B
chains, and chemical synthesis of glucagons that has earned
him various awards. Since the 1980's he has turned his attention
to neuropeptide. In 1994 he was awarded the Cathay Award
at an international Chinese Peptide Symposium.
